Out Of Bed

Megan just called to tell me that she got out of bed last night (with assistance of course) and sat in a chair. She sounds pretty good. She said she might have surgery today, but I'm not counting on it.

She called us last night, and I was surprised how lucid she sounded compared to Sunday's call. Sounds like she is doing well, and we told her we'd be up to see you guys this weekend.

I saw Megan very briefly this morning. She was in good spirits. They were about to put her in a wheelchair for the first time. Unfortunately, I had to leave before I could check in on her again.

Megan is better today, and surgery is tomorrow. I don't think she is as doped up.

Certainly, she is not this doped up:

LONDON — Keith Richards has acknowledged consuming a raft of illegal substances in his time, but this may top them all. In comments published Tuesday, the 63-year-old Rolling Stones guitarist said he had snorted his father's ashes mixed with cocaine.

"The strangest thing I've tried to snort? My father. I snorted my father," Richards was quoted as saying by British music magazine NME.

Perhaps that's what keeps Keith alive.

Glad to hear Megan is getting mobile. We'll continue to keep her in our thoughts.
